We are a Fair Trade company and part of our ethos is never to send anything back to our suppliers or withhold payment. Sometimes we receive leather items from our suppliers that are not quite up to our high standards.  Leather is a natural product and is not likely to be perfect. However, with these items there are some obvious but minor imperfections in the finish of the albums. This may be an odd mark or scrape or other discolouration. We think this adds to the rugged and unique appeal of the items.  Because of these minor faults, the items are being sold at a VERY REDUCED PRICE. If, however, bearing this all in mind, you are not happy with the product once you have received it, you are more than welcome to send it back to us for a refund. More about the album: Our beautiful Fair Trade leather photo albums are the perfect way to display and protect treasured photographs. Each photo album is handmade and contains 30 pages (60 sides) of acid-free recycled paper, each interleaved with tissue paper, and can hold up to 120 6"x 4" photos. All the pages are plain to give you the freedom to fill them however you choose. Photos can be added using photo corners, which are available in any good photography shop, spray mount or simple glue. The plain pages mean that this album is also perfect for use as a sketch or scrap book! The stunning leather cover is crafted using a mixture of contemporary and traditional methods, with the embossing expertly created using small individual tools and it is tanned using only natural dyes. For the pages, handmade paper is used. Made by a charity in Rajasthan that promotes women’s education and their social standing in the rural villages, it is created from recycled cotton (also known as khadda, kaddi or khaddi) which is leftover from the massive garment industry in India. It produces a beautiful paper, easy to write, draw or paint on, and perfect for preserving precious photos. Due to the handmade nature of these products colour and designs may slightly vary but loveliness comes as standard.  What stone is on the journal?The semi-precious stones that have been stitched onto these leather journals have been handpicked by us for quality and size and may differ from the image shown as we use a mixture of tiger’s eye, lapis, Labourite and black onyx.  PLEASE NOTE: We do not advise using a fountain pen with this type of handmade paper as the ink may spread.
